Ancil Greene is favoured to
win the Suez Energy Sunday mini-duathlon this
Sunday, as long as last year's winner Clarence
Tobias is not in the race. But Greene will be
expecting stiff competition from fast improving
Daniel Koo who placed third last year.
The Suez Energy Sunday Mini-duathlon (run/cycle/run)
and 5km events take place this Sunday, March
9, in the Queen's Park Savannah, opposite TGIF
on Victoria Avenue. The day's action begins
with the 5km at 1pm, to be followed by the kids'
duathlon and then the adult duathlon at around
2:30 pm.
The race is being hosted by the Rainbow Warriors
Triathlon Club. Last year 216 runners competed
and 70 duathletes. "This year we will be
catering for only 500", said Race Organiser
Jason Gooding, a former nine-time national triathlon
champion, "We will have 410 runners in
the 5km and 90 in the mini-duathlon races.
