The race course for the River Raid MTB race is fun and is suited for skilled bikers as well as entry to medium level bikers. It is a combination of some single track through forested area, bamboo and technical dry river beds with fast ups and downs, ins and outs.

There is one technical switch back climb (approx. 100m). The course will be 2 and 3 loops clockwise because it flows better that way as you seem to be going downhill for most of the way. This course is generally fast and an awesome rush.

I would suggest you get there with enough time to do a warm-up lap. The race starts promptly at 9:30am.

How to get to race

Coming for Port of Spain:
Follow Wrightson Road heading West, passing West Mall on the left and continuing. Stay on the Western Main Rd. (you will go through Glencoe, L'Anse Mitan and Carenage). When you pass Pier 1 and reach the "island in the road", turn right onto Tucker Valley Road (the road just before "The Base" nightclub). Follow Tucker Valley Rd. until you see the park with huge Samaan Trees on the right. (approx. 2 miles)

Timing

Odessey Timing Company will be hired for race timing. This race will be done by an "Electronic Chip Timing System". For more details on electronic chip timing, visit their website at www.odesseytiming.com.
